Troubleshooting: Cannot Connect to TV

1. Check Your iOS Device Settings

  • Ensure the Same Wi-Fi Network: Verify that your iOS device and TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Disable Plugins or VPNs: Any "Safe Browsing" plugins, apps, or VPN proxies on your iOS device can block TV detection. Disable them temporarily.
  • Turn Off Private Address:
    1. Go to SettingsWi-Fi.
    2. Select the connected network (tap the blue button).
    3. Ensure Private Address is turned off.
  • Allow Local Network Access:
    1. Go to SettingsPrivacyLocal Network.
    2. Ensure the Remote Control app has permission.

2. Check Your Router Settings

  • Same Band Connection: If using a multi-band router (e.g., 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), ensure both your TV and iOS device are on the same band.
  • Avoid Public Wi-Fi: Public Wi-Fi often blocks internal network traffic, preventing connection to your Smart TV.
  • Enable UPNP: Ensure UPNP is enabled in your router settings.
  • Check for Subnets: If your network has multiple subnets, you may not be able to connect to your TV.
  • Reboot Your Router:
    1. Unplug the power cord, wait 1 minute, and reconnect it.
    2. Repeat this step for other network devices, such as Wi-Fi repeaters.
  • MAC Address Filtering: If your router uses MAC address filtering, add your TV's MAC address to the list of allowed devices.
  • Disable the Following Settings:
    • Access Point/Client Isolation
    • Wireless Isolation
    • IGMP Proxy
    • VPNs or Proxy Servers
  • Enable IGMP: Ensure IGMP is enabled on your router.

3. Check Your TV Settings

  • Ensure the Same Wi-Fi Network: Verify that your TV is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iOS device.
  • Reconnect to the Router: In the TV menu, go to Network and reconnect to the router to renew the IP address.
  • Update TV Software: Ensure your TV is running the latest software.
  • Check TV Clock: Ensure the TV clock is synced with the current internet time. Significant discrepancies can cause connection issues.
  • Reboot the TV:
    1. Unplug the power cord, wait 1 minute, and reconnect it.
  • Wait for Detection: Note that the TV may require 30-60 seconds after powering on before it can be detected by a mobile device.
